Bridlington RNLI volunteers were called out at 07:21 (Tuesday 10th November) this morning to assist an injured crew member on board a local fishing vessel.
The crew member had collapsed on board and sustained a head injury about 40 miles off the coast. The all-weather lifeboat (ALB) rendezvoused with the vessel about 14 miles from shore and a Casualty Carer was transferred to the vessel to assess his injuries.
The decision was then made to transfer the casualty to the ALB to get him to shore to be treated further. The lifeboat then returned to Bridlington harbour to transfer the casualty to a waiting ambulance.
If you see someone in distress along the coast call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
